Kickstarter campaigns in the Netherlands show poor results
An immensely successful global crowdfunding platform Kickstarter came to the Netherlands at the beginning of 2014, however during its first six months in the country three quarters of the projects could not reach their funding goals.
On September 22 there was a total of 311 Dutch projects on Kickstarter. Out of them: 39 percent failed to achieve their funding goal, and 16 percent had prematurely canceled. Only three of all campaigns had raised 100% of the target amount.
The poor results of the Dutch kick off by Kickstarter might be explained by the absence of a national office, unadapted to local preferences payment system and the language barrier.
